Hello all!!! Well, I shall sound like all newbies here: I am getting 2003 Audi A4 Avant Sport 1.9, and I am new here. LOL.

I was going through this website, but not sure I came accross to the question and solutions to the question I have. If I am wrong- please please please point me to the right direction, i.e. thread.
So, here it goes: can I change my old style B6 3-spoke steering wheel (top in the pic) to the nicer B7 3-spoke multi-functional (bottom of the pic) one? Audi A4 Steering Wheels.jpg
Has anyone done it? I heard it is possible. Can someone send me the detailed (pictured) step-by-step guide or something like that? I would really highly appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Bear in mind the airbag connections are different, so there's no guarantee they'll go off in an accident. The B6 used a single, high impact airbag and the B7 uses dual low and high impact airbags. I have read a forum with someone who had an A3 with a modified (but still genuine Audi) steering wheel and it didn't go off in an accident... and nor did any other airbags. That would have insurance implications amongst other things.

    Just a word of warning.

Sorry, my mistake, the other airbags did go off. But the dual stage one didn't. Here's the thread. Would you like to be in that car with no driver airbag?

Yeah benjie, you right, there are chances... But it is tempting to get nicer one

Totally agree. The B6 wheels are very similar to the 'old' generation B5 A4's and & 8L A3's. The newer ones suit the car far better!

We had more injuries and deaths. It's not suicide, it's just not being as safe as you could be.
