    Hi folks,

I get the following error in every VCDS scan, I cleared it a couple of times and it always comes back. (It's been like this for about 2 years to be honest...)

Address 47: Sound System Labels: 4F0-910-223-AS.lbl
    Part No SW: 4F0 910 223 G HW: 4F0 035 223
    Component: Amp.-ASK H09 0350
    Revision: 11S00001 Serial number: 02303040011137
    Coding: 0000003
    Shop #: WSC 02335 785 00200
    VCID: 22410464FDD4D09

    1 Fault Found:
00420 - Right Front DSP Midrange Speaker (R104)
    011 - Open Circuit
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101011
    Fault Priority: 5
    Fault Frequency: 37
    Reset counter: 237
    Time Indication: 0

Any ideas? The sound doesn't sound any different to me, so I'm assuming all of the speakers are working fine. The phone works fine too, so does anybody know which speaker this is?

    Thanks,

    Six

    Thanks Gup,

I've just read that document, it shows that R104 (the speaker causing the error) is fitted in cars with BOSE systems. However my car doesn't have BOSE

Standard sound system has the following:

    1 Mid/high-pitch loudspeaker, front left R26
    2 Low-pitch loudspeaker, front left R21
    3 High-pitch loudspeaker, rear left R14 and
    mid/low-pitch loudspeaker, rear left R159
4 Control unit for digital sound package J525
    5 Mid/high-pitch loudspeaker, front right R27
    6 Low-pitch loudspeaker, front right R23
    7 High-pitch loudspeaker, rear left R16 and
    mid/low-pitch loudspeaker, rear right R160

BOSE sound system has the following:

    1 High-pitch loudspeaker, front left R20
    2 Middle-pitch loudspeaker, front left R103
    3 Low-pitch loudspeaker, front left R21
    4 High-pitch loudspeaker, rear left R14
    5 Mid/low-pitch loudspeaker, rear left R159
6 Control unit for digital sound package J525
    7 Mid-range/treble loudspeaker, centre, R158
8 Microphone unit in front roof module R164
9 Loudspeaker in parcel shelf R150
    10 High-pitch loudspeaker, front right R22
    11 Middle-pitch loudspeaker, front right R104
    12 Low-pitch loudspeaker, front right R23
    13 High-pitch loudspeaker, rear right R16
    14 Mid/low-pitch loudspeaker, rear right R160

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Six

Fixed it!! Finally got some time this weekend so I took the door panel off today to investigate and the speaker wire was not connected!!

Looks like when someone previously has taken the door panel off they have missed plugging the speaker cable in!

When I got the car, I did take it back under warranty to have the window switch replaced so in guessing it's been like that since then!

Anyway, all working now and the best thing is it didn't cost me anything :-)

Now just to replace the broken parking sensor.... Replacement ordered from eBay.
