    Hi all...

The wierdest thing. Got a '99 AEB 1.8T, and today I noticed that when driving (my temp needle is always smack center - maybe except highway where it goes down a bit), my temp needle was almost at the bottom! City driving! then it went up a bit, but stayed well within the bottom quarter...

Tried it again after 2 hrs, and it went up to 1/2 like always...then after 15 mins or so, back down almost to nothing! Is this normal? hadn't noticed it ever dropping before...

    any input will be appreciated!

    cheers!

The temp sensor is probably faulty, common on these engines should cost £20 + fitting

Thanks rob! I obviously unplugged it from the coolant reservoir, blew on it (the scope of my technical skills), plugged it back in and hoped for the best. I hate it when things go crazy on a bad day.

The one you unplugged is the coolant reservoir level check, The temp sender is in a pipe towards the back of the engine, it should have a blue top, if its green then its an updated one
