    can someone tell me the best speaker upgrade for the b5.5 passat estate... i wish to keep the genuine tweeters as well...??

    i have a 1 or 2 rattling / distorting one rear and one front

    or just buy replacements from vw..

    these are what i fitted recently http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Passat-...item1e61888caa they work brilliantly and are a better sound than the originals they also do the rears to match too, i just fitted by drilling out the old rivets and refitted these in the same holes with rivets took me around 45 mins to fit them

    There is only a couple of things to remember when buying speakers.

    1. Impedence. On the back of the original speaker hopefully there should be 8 or 4 ohms, after the number there will be an Omega symbol if ohms isnt written. If you put the wrong impedence speaker in ypu could blow tge outputs on the amp of the.heatunit.

    2. Power. This will be written as sething like 25 watts, buy the wattage or above, if its lower when you.turn it up the speaker will blow

    And of course the size, make sure it fits the hole, diameter and depth clearence in tge doors.

    Thw fixing holes may be different on the new speaker but you can drill new fixing holes

    If you know the power of the headunit for example 200W that would mean if you had 4 speakers 50W each speaker

    did you use the original tweeters or disconnect them...??

    i've just left them in and seem fine just changed the speakers front & back
