    hi
this my first post on here.
i have picked up lots of very useful info from here and need a little help.

i have the dreaded door loom issue, ie broken wire causing issues with speakers, locks and windows.

thanks to this site i am 99.9% sure this is the cause. and a quick wiggle some times gets things to work temporarily.

i have patched them up a few times but its getting worse.

I have been keeping an eye on ebay but not found one so far, don't really want a second hand one anyway as not sure how long it will last.

i have found this AUDI A2 A4 DOOR WIRING LOOM 8Z0971029L NEW GENUINE AUDI PART | eBay but the seller is not sure what it is for.

the seller has checked it against my VIN some how? and says it is is for my car.

    hence my question.

does anyone know if this is used to repair the wires between the door and car body?
or is it for something else inside the door?

if it is what I need does anyone have instructions how to fit it.

The black connector at the end does not look right to me, unless it has some sort of cover on it that you remove before fitting.

    please help.

    Hi KrustyCar

I have the same issue with mind and like you have patched it but it's started playing up again.

I have considered buying a new one from Audi but then I though well it's just going to happen again due to the nature of the bending radius. I'm wondering if there's a better solution i.e. re-making the loom with a stronger cable type that's more resistant to repeated bending etc.

I have the same issue on my front passenger door. I had a mate check which cable was at fault then did a temporary repair from the door directly to the inside of the car without going through the rubber boot. Need to sort this out soon as I'm wanting to sell the car and want it to look spot on before anyone comes to view. Will ask a sparky mate to help out and let you know how I get on.
