Golf 115BHP PD Cam belt/water pump

Hi chaps, I am getting the cam belt done on my 115PD changed this week ,its done 112000, was last done at around 78000, should I get the water pump changed as a precaution, am I right in assuming that the water pump is driven by the cam belt. Also is there any other work worth considering whilst doing the cam belt

Hello Dave, Yes you are quite correct the water pump is driven by the cambelt and it is well worth you changing the water pump while the front end is all stipped as a precaution,they cost approx £30.00 which to me is money well spent and you can be assured of another 60k.

Cheers mate, i've purchased the water pump and v-type belt, might as well do the lot in one go
