My pet hate is a squeak in a car and mine has one !!!!

I just noticed it last week and I have narrowed it down to the area around my nearside tail light area. When driving it cracks me up, every little bump in the road, squeak, squeak, Aghhhhhhhh.

Tonight while closing the boot i heard the squeak and after opening and closing about 100 times I am 100% sure it is coming from the real left as said.

Anyhow before I set fire to the car does Audi cover this under warranty?? Still have 1 year warranty left and hoping they will do something !!!

From experience, they will only look into it if you can recreate it for them!

Did it squeak all 100 times you opened and closed the boot? Have you got someone who can sit in the boot whlile you open/close it and dig around?

Yes you can hear it every time you close the boot. All 100 times lol. Yes have been in the boot today with wife driving ( I know, brave) and it is coming from around the hatch area where the radio amp is . I will drop into Audi on Friday on my way home and get them to hear it and see what they can do

I had a similar squeak around the drivers door, and the fix was to put rubber conditioner/lubricant on the rubber seal around the door. The dealer gave me a spray, which was "reassuringly expensive"
Autoglym do a rubber conditioner, there are lots of inexpensive products out there.
It may be worth giving the metal around the boot/tailgate and doors a really good clean and even wax, then clean the rubber and apply the conditioner.
Hope this helps. Please post an update

    Update.

I called into Audi Belfast on my way home yesterday.

They opened and closed the boot and heard it every time. They then held the left tail light and opened and closed the boot at the noise went.
They took the car into the workshop for 10 mins and brought it back saying they greased around the tail light housing and it is fixed.

5 minutes later on my way home it started again and now it is even louder !!!!

I will be booking it in next week to try and get it sorted.... AGHHHHHHH

I have been here many times!
I would be tempted to remove the light and have a very good look around. The rattle may not be directly from the light cluster.
Have you looked at the spring mechanism for the boot lid (Sorry I have a Avant so not familiar with the boot lid)
I am sure you will get it resolved, and it will be something trivial, and this will be a distant memory

    Good luck
