    Hi all,

I shall be buying a new toy shortly in the form of a VCDS cable and I'm wondering if you can advise me on what mods I can get cracking on first (can you tell I'm excited about receiving it?).

I understand the needle sweep isn't available on my model unfortunately , but what can I look forward to installing, eg alarm chirp, cornering lights, auto tilt mirrors etc?

    Thanks in advance guys,
    Paul.

I enabled alarm chirp, DRLs (albeit dipped beam), visual parking picture, hidden menu, battery meter, oil level (which doesn't work due to not having the sensor)

Also recorded fuel level in litres before the car going into Audi, read live engine values, diagnosed faults.

You can't see this obviously, but I'm rubbing my hands together. Alarm chirp, battery meter, fuel in litres - lots of new toys. I guess I won't get visual parking picture with Basic+ & no parking sensors. No idea what hidden menu could be?!?!

Fuel in litres is a bit far, but after Audi using a 1/4 tank (and denying it!!) in my A3 I need to log it beforehand just to make sure

Hidden menu is just extra advanced options for the MMI, if you ever enable it, stay away from Bootloader as MMI will go into a lockdown mode which only Audi can rectify.

The range given on the DIS is never correct though. I've done at least 20 miles after it hits '0 miles left' several times (reckless I know) without any signs of running out, so it'd be nice to get an accurate picture of how much fuel's in the tank.

Tha't's really cheeky, did you notice any difference in the milometer?

Nope not accurate at all. I've drove 30 hit-and-miss miles when the needle is on the very bottom of the gauge

They had the car a week - its a long story but it involved the A3 getting damaged 3 times over a month and a half (I had a A4 courtesy car out for this time and devalued it alot by doing 5k in it!) and it shoud've stayed in the dealership but with no evidence to back my accusation up, I had no hope. So I'm doing this from now on for backup just incase.

Sad that you have to watch out for it especially with such a loyal customer, but that's the reality. What's that saying about "fool me once.....".

Fortunately thats been the only time something like that has happened and never thought I would have to do it, but hey ho.

3 years and not one problem then everything seems to come at once - the A6 was damaged too during that time.
