Has anyone had any problems with their rear 12V boot socket ?
I have a 12V 90W tyre compressor which refuses to work on the rear 12V socket . It works fine on the front central cigarette socket but only temporary spins up for about 5 secs. on the rear socket. It's as if there is current limiter in the circuit.

Have only ever powered games consoles from the rear socket, which hardly test it.

I know out of the three power sockets in my other car only one is recommended for the tyre compressor.

I've used my 300psi compressor in the rear socket and it works all the time. Its a pain in the <removed> you have to have the ignition on to use it front or rear.

I use a compressor sometimes and a powered cool box regularly, no problem other than the fact it is switched through ignition.

Is it possible to make it unswitched?

Well I've thought about making it live all the time but I've never really got around to it I just turn the ignition on when I want to use it.
