The Eps Light Has Started To Come On At Irregular Intervals On My Audi A4 2.0 2002. The Eps Switch Doesn't Work When This Happens But If You Switch Off & On, Then Everything Works Fine???? No Apparent Symptoms Or Faults.

    Anyone Any Ideas???

Maybe a dodgy ABS sensor. Usually with electronics, more so with the ESP light which illuminates a faults in the system, which includes ABS and throttle a diagnostic can be easier to identify the problem.

Just an idea, i had the same problem on mine, it turned out to be the ESP angle sensor which is located behind the steering wheel, but with most Audi's it could be anything!

Just to let you know... if the TRACTION CONTROL light (ESP) comes on. check that BOTH your rear brake lights work..

If you have both rear brake lights on the TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT comes on and stays on...

so if you had one bulb out and the other has also gone but the filerment is still making contact it could cause the light to go on and off..

I had a similar problem on the way to work...

The ESP light came on as i was slowing to a stop without me realising the car had stalled with the ESP light still on, after i had started the car again the light stayed on with the car functioning normally, until i stopped at work (about two mins after) then when i turned it off and on the light went off??

    Any ideas?
