I was out of the country for six weeks and came back to find my right rear wheel was bottomed out all the way to the wheel arches. I pulled the car back and saw my spring just laying there, sheared in half. Anyone ever seen this? Also, I am originally not from the UK so I don't know the best place to source parts. Where would be recommended places to purchase a new one, and also, what should I expect for cost?

    Thanks in advance!

I had a front spring break with out even realising it as it broke at the seat at the base of the spring, so I guess its possible for a weakened cracked spring to just go at some stage.
Have you tried A8 parts as they often have second hand pairs on thier ebay site for about £80 or so
Their website and links to ebay are at http://www.prestigemotorservices.co.uk/

Thanks very much. I got some from him and had them fitted. He also showed me a broken piece of my front spring. Thinking about the Eibach kit now...where's the best place to buy it?

Got second hand springs form ebay. Had them fitted...they are from a quattro so it rides a tiiiiiny bit higher in the back. When I picked it up, they showed me a piece of my front spring that broke off. Looks like I'm gonna get the Eibach kit.
