    Hi Folks!
Does anyone know how to remove the plastic console that the handbrake lever protrudes from on a B5.5? I could probably work it out for myself but if somebody's done it before it might save me from breaking something! Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Rich.

Not to worry - have done it now!
Just need to replace the handbrake lever now as the spring for the ratchet mechanism has died.

Was a while ago now but went something like this :-

    - remove two screws (one on each side) where main section of console meets the front section near gearlever. Think there are plastic covers over the screws.
    - lift up arm rest and remove the tray from inside, then remove nuts (4 I think) now visible.
    - open rear ash tray and remove two screws.
    - remove main section of console.

Once you've got this far replacing the handbrake lever is easy.

Hope this helps - at least you got a reply!

    Rich.
