    Mods so far, Votex Rear Bumper & S Line Front Bumper, Forge Recirc Valve, Pipercross Air Filter, S Line rear Spoiler, 19" (Anthracite) RS6 Alloys
    <cough>

    Subtract those and you've probably spent around £0.59.

    Man up son, it's fixed now, it works, enjoy it.

    Well, Back from a nice break away for 2 weeks (Been nice to be away from the car!!)
    I spent the whole 2 weeks thinking what to do with it, I looked around and saw a really nice 2005 3.2 V6 S Line A3 that was a bit more expensive than my budget but i could've stretched to it, i posted on the A3 forum here asking about it (not had any replies yet!!) but when i thought about it hard yesterday i wondered if it would be better getting mine spot on rather than spending out on a new car.

    What would you all do? buy the A3 or lower, Remap & Fit a Cat Back Exhaust & finally get my Votex Skirts painted and fitted???? Also get a Double Din centre console and then a nice Double din Satnav/Ipod stereo.

    I'm so stuck as to what to do!!

    if you are having to think about it, then it means you would be gutted to part with it as you love it . if you really wanted to sell it then it would be advertised by now.

    Hi Sam, it's gonna be a tough one but I think getting the A4 right is the better way to go after you have put in so much time and money.The A3 3.2 uses the VR6 which is a good unit but has its issues with timing chain failure at around 70,000 which is an expensive engine and box out job.
    If you are unaware, the VR6 3.2 is a different unit to the V6 3.2 as used in the rest of the Audi range.
    Another thing is fuel economy and another thing to think about is the fact that the VR6 is a heavier unit than your 1.8 , so though the VR is giving around 250 bhp, the on road performance over a tuned 1.8 ( 220 plus available quite easily ) , is not that much of an enticement.
    Here's another thought, an A3 is never going to be as nicely specced as a well finished and specced A4.
    I have had A3,A4,A6,80 COUPE X3, S3 ,90, 4,5,and 6 cylinder, A4 quattro and haldex quattro,( the vr6 is haldex as the A3 is a golf in a different frock) and I would suggest the A4 is the best all rounder.
    I would also express that this is only my opinion and that you should follow your own fancy.

    ( Get the A4 finished , mapped and painted and all those other little touches and enjoy, you know you wanna)

    Lol.

    I did put it up for sale on ebay but pulled it off with a day to go as I don't think I really want to see it go even tho I keep putting the old girl down.
    Im gonna think about it over the nExt few days and then probably decide all along that the A4 is the better car
