Right, I've been rather busy for the last six months and the car has been somewhat neglected, its in dire need of some care and attention. In a week or so I have 4 days off work, and want to use some of the time (probably all, but dont tell the misses) to give the car some well deserved love.

Firstly shes getting a full detail inside and out (detailing-world eat your heart out!) including claybay, a few layers of wax etc...
ort to clarify, thats the car, not the misses :P

Bought a decat a while ago and its about time it was fitted, so thats going on. And the radio aerial has given up the ghost, so gotta track down problems there.

Generally the engine is ok, recent stat, cam belt, oil, water pump etc. But whilst the car is off the road I may as well do anything else I can at the same time... so what do people suggest?

Im open to suggestions of stuff, both things that need to be done... and also any interesting mods etc.

    Cheers

Me thinks do sexy stuff like this!

Also you could change the LED's in the aircon display to a different colour!

They are all LED's and just require a bit of soldering. Bering in mind that they are rather small. I struggled due to having large fingers. Also, with the aircon display, i needed to scratch off the red stuff on the back of one of the filters and then make some new blue filters out of some plastic paper files. Not sure if i have pics anywhere as my NAS got hacked the other day. If not i could take some more if it would help!?

as usual things didnt go to plan...
I've been hearing a funny noise over the last few weeks, I wasnt able to track down the cause, but I knew it was either the alternator or fuel pump. Finally on wednesday morning I started the car and it made an almighty noise! I was suppose to be driving 300 miles wednesday evening! So I stripped off the front bumper and slam panel. Got the aux belt off and tried all of the pullys, tbh they didnt feel too bad... the tensioner pully and steering pump had a little bearing play but nothing horrendous. So I took the risk and decide it was the alternator, whipped it off and as soon as it was off It started to make the noise again. Popped down the scrappie and picked up another, 30 mins later all back together and no noise. Phew!
I drove the 300miles fine, no worries what so ever.
Earlier in the week I managed to give the car a proper clean, claybar and 3 coats of wax so she was looking gooood! I have also got the car chipped and boy am I impressed with the results! A genuine 2.5-3s off 0-60, it makes the car much more practical for general driving, having the power ready when its needed. Its also supposed to improve mpg... so I thought I would give it a go on a long run. Not only has it improved it, but its made a drastic change. Driving carefully, I usually get about 600-650 miles per tank before I hit the red line. This time I have managed 700 miles and I've still got a 1/4 of a tank to go..... Result!
I'm still hoping to find some time to do the dash mods etc, especially the led colour change. But these will have to wait until next time.
    Ben
