I have had my 3.0tdi A8 D3 Quattro for 2.5 years now and love it. I tow a twin axle 1700kg caravan and I am so impressed with the car I wanted to tell you all !!

I used to tow with a Disco 3 TDV6 and it was good, but the Audi is superb. Also we were leaving a site at easter and it was pretty muddy...I selected 2nd gear, raised the suspension, turned off ESP and sailed off without a problem - where 2 guys in Nissan Navara's were spinning..

I have been thinking of a new car and like the Q7 but after the A8 did so well on the mud and I love driving it so much I am keeping it for another year and thinking that instead of a Q7 3.0tdi I am going to save up for a 4.2tdi version of what I have, I think

I put a towbar on mine so that I could carry three bikes on holiday on a Thule rack. The car never notices them, but I try to keep below 100mph so there is no risk of damage. These are very versatile cars.
