I've just bought a 55 plate Golf Plus TDi SE and the key to undo the locking wheel nuts is missing from the tool kit.
I've called a couple of dealers and they tell me that VW no longer supply keys. They can remove the bolts for me, one way or another, but I'll need to buy a new set of bolts.

Does anyone know of a supplier of these keys? I assume if I go to VW they will be able to find out the correct code for my bolts.

If not, is there a cheaper option than a set of genuine VW bolts (about £50)? And one where I can get a replacement key if I lose it? Each bolt has a little individual plastic cap, with a different one for the locking bolt, so some of the funny shaped ones wouldn't work. Lots of bolts on ebay, but some look to be pretty dubious quality, even if they fit.

I find it hard to believe that they don't supply replacements.
    Try another dealer.
They should have set of keys to try on yours, then order the correct key.

Tried three dealers. The second VW one gave the same story, VW no longer supply keys. He told me to try a SEAT or Skoda dealer, as they can get the same parts. Same story from them though. They have a set of masters that they can try on mine, but they can't order one for me.
Anyway, I've found the solution with a bit of searching - www.zakparts.com. I just matched up the bolts I've got with the picture on their site and ordered it. Under £15 delivered.
Why do VW refuse to sell certain parts for their cars, and drive you to buying from aftermarket suppliers? I just don't get it. It's not the first time either.
