Is it possible to use Post Code entry on a 2011 Passat SAT NAV?

My wife has a 2.0Tdi Sport with a standard touch screen sat nav but I can't see anyway to enter the post code - just a town or street name. Isn't this a bit of a pain????

Can any clarify if I am missing something and advise accordingly?

    Cheers

In the town entry just start typing the post code you want. Unfortunately early 2011 Passats will only accept 5 digit post codes. There has been considerable discussion on this problem with no real resolution although I did get a 'goodwill' payment from VW because of the inadequacies of the 315 SatNav. Everyone seems to agree that the older 315 SatNav are very poor indeed. There's lots of discussions on Passat forums - just do a search.

No excuse from VW on this really, is there?
The UK is such a big market for them and with the Passat being such a huge fleet choice, there must be a lot of <removed> off drivers and owners out ther with a Sat Nav which is very poor indeed.
I had a loan Micra the other day (don't ask) but even that had a SatNav that worked better/more efficiently than my Wifes car! GRRRRR!
Why do we put up with it?
