i have a problem with my brakes when the car is 1st used after long periods ie over nite...
its an auto box, so foot on pedal 2 select drive/reverse but the pedal is rock hard (like using brakes on a rolling car with the ignition off )

this hard pedal and poor braking lasts literally seconds, by the time ive pulled off the drive into normal driving speeds the brakes will work perfectly,

any audi veterans with any ideas/theorys please comment, would be much appreciated as i am new in the audi game and a new forum member

    be gentle tho

Check the servo/servo vacuum pipes and additional brake booster pump

The electric vacuum brake booster pump is located near the abs control unit and there is also a vacuum sensor on the vacuum system near the servo this pump gives extra vacuum and is likely to be the fault

cheers for the reply.. this is my 1st audi, reading other posts on the forum suggests this is maybe a common fault.. do you know if a diagnostic computer would pick up on the brake booster/vacuum sensor? may sound a saft question but like i sed, 1st audi so im playing catch up.

will be replacing brake components anyway (always do when i buy a car) so im hoping its a job that can be done pretty easily by my trusted mechanical friend from work lol
