Hi I have blue smoke from exhaust when accelerating , cant feel turbo boosting but can get up to motorway speed just not great power!. its a 1997 tdi avant 1.9 90bhp.

155000 miles on the clock i got it as a runaround till my other car is fixed. But would like to hang onto it as it drives pretty good other than not alot of poke and have to get a vacumn central locking pump.

    maf? turbo?any suggestions ?

    Thanks

    Jonny

Could be oil smoke or if it is actually black smoke it could be a boost leak, start with a fault code read.

Thanks for that Crasher, on closer inspection, there is oil at the top of the engine, i take this is the turbo/ manifold in the pic, its all around it, and the smoke only comes
out when driving at around 2000 rpm when the turbo should be working.

The oil in those pics is common and minor, what you are seeing is burnt oil or over fuelling/poor combustion.
