Everytime I park I measure the heights of each corner, the average heights are not even close to '402mm' the standard for level 2.
am I right in thinking the lowest height corner would be the one with a leaking strut? (it's the front left).
The car doesn't complete the 402 level calibration with VAG-COM, and never reaches level 3 maybe the compressor is duff too.
When I ask the system to change levels from 2 it flashes but times out.
Why does the compressor run to drop levels???

    Any fault codes?

Is the error light still always on?

to complete the calibration, have you tried someone with a full VCDS version? or Maybe some one can confirm if VCDS lite can complete this process?

    regards

The error light is permanently on now but the compressor still runs !

    2 Faults Found:
01437 - Control Position not Learned
    35-00 - -
    01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-00 - Control Limit Not Reached

All 4 corners are different heights just now, fronts 375mm and 370, rears 415 and 395. Level light flashing for level three but gave up and showed level 2.
I'm thinking valve block or ECU...

The error light is on as the calibration is not complete, if you are sure you have followed the process step by step, If not already done get someone with a full version of vcds to try the calibration process.

Did the suspension work ok before you tried the calibration?

Done some digging on VCDS-Lite from ross tech: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/m...daptation.html

    Shareware Limitation(s):
    • The Unregistered/Unactivated version of VCDS-Lite will only allow access to the first 9 Adaptation Channels (out of 99 possible).
    • The Save Function is Blocked.
    • Help charts are blocked.
looks like an unregistered/unactivated version of LCDS Lite will not complete the calibration process, you may be able to register it with ross tech depending where you got it from or see if you can find someone near you with a full registered version to try out the calibration, I

    regards

I just thought to start or add to a previous threads, when I saw this. In my opinion, the problem is the compressor (too long time working), so I asked in one of the topics how many time required to raise the car on level 2. Here is part of auto-scan with registered VCDS.

Address 34: Level Control Labels: 4Z7-907-553.lbl
    Control Module Part Number: 4Z7 907 553 A
    Component and/or Version: - 2C1A1 X019
    Software Coding: 25500
    Work Shop Code: WSC 04522
    VCID: 438FE8AB518EF9B
    2 Faults Found:

01437 - Control Position not Learned
    35-00 - -
    01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-00 - Control Limit Not Reached

I do the compressor "down" and opened it. Visible damage to the cylinder. Now looking for a way to repair, the trick with a slight expansion of the piston ring did not help me. Seems the control unit switch off function and i can't finish adaptation. The most I managed to get to channel 3 and then I get a message: "Error channel 3 is not available".

    Suggestion will be appreciated.

    Best regards,
    B

    the error:
    01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-00 - Control Limit Not Reached

can certainly and most likely to be a weak compressor as the system cannot give enough pressure to raise the car to the requested level

    the error:
01437 - Control Position not Learned
    35-00 - -
is the calibration lost or started and not completed fully: see link http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01437

Golf TDI hal previously tried the to calibrate the system which led the error light to be on constant, my 1st step would be to try and fix this by getting the calibration to complete, it could be a duff module not allowing the completion of the process but it also states that a shareware VCDS version will not allow the user to complete this, now i do not have much kowledge of VCDS shareware versions and capabilities, but it is just my thinking this may be stopping it, I may be way off and wrong as it may be the ECU module but my thinking is it is the easiest starting place

    VCDS info here: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vag-functions.html

BPAbsolute are you using a full VCDS cable, or one registered from VCDS Lite?

what is the actual damage in the cylinder?

    regards

    Andy

Tnx for the reply. (Y) Picture is not good enough but here is (in the upper zone):

Yes, using VCDS hex+can intelligent interface, from Ross-Tech, fully reg. & activating. I know that shareware version can not pass through all channels of adaptation. Sorry for my English and please explain "duff" (module) term.

ha ha yes sorry for my bad english "Duff" is a term for faulty or not working, hence perhaps a faulty module,

also had another thought Oh Oh!!

if the compressor is very very poorly, the 1st stage of the calibration is for the car to raise to level 2 if it cannot even do this then the calibration process may be incomplete even from the start, it is strange how you cannot see chanel 3 & 4 though??

    regards

Yes, so for me it was very strange behavior. Several times I tried but it seems that the car can not reach the level 2 and then on channel 1 get the message: Error channel 1 is not available. Next time, system waits and nothing happens, even the compressor does not start at all.

After that, air compressor go for over 1 minute and text: "Enter value for ... sorry i can not remember exactly" and i step to channel 2 but Error appear, again.

If immediately switch to measuring blocks and look, i see, if I remember correctly in MB 5 or 6, the pressure is not sufficient, according to data which give VCDS. As I have already written, as far I've come to channel # 3 and no more. If you then look in the DTC,

    "01400 - Suspension Level Control
11-00 - Control Limit Not Reached" appear.

    Thanks,
    Boyan
