That's uncalled for - the car was still in warranty. Dealer said they're not bad enough to change. VW said "not bad enough" is not an acceptable answer, they're either OK or they're not.

There are clear signs of the lacquer failing around the centre hole but the dealer is still saying VW won't accept them as a warranty claim so they daren't send them back. VW has now backed away from "not bad enough and says it's up to the dealer.

I don't understand their attitude as others talk of having alloys changed with very minor corrosion, sometimes even without asking. The wheels are otherwise completely unmarked.

I've had alloys refurbed so I'm not averse to getting it done, but these are diamond cut so they'll be expensive and they tend not to last well after refurb. May have to get them powder coated, but might look odd moving away from the original finish.
