Glad this is sorting itself out and you are getting a lovely car in place of what was ruined!! I had exactly the same thing happen to me with my Mini. But unfortunately they repaired mine, I hated it after getting it back.

    re-Gap insurance.

I had a 3 year old Motorbike about 10 years ago, i took out HP on it to buy it as i was only young and had no disposable Income. I declined the gap insurance, 4 months into owning it someone decided to pull out of a turning into my path luckily enough i walked away with minor cuts and bruises, The bike on the other hand wasn't so lucky. It got wrote off and the insurance company valued it at £3,000 less than what i owed on the Finance, I was left with a 3 grand bill that i was forced to pay back to the finance company for an accident that wasn't my fault so i would strongly recommend Gap insurance on anything that would leave you owing more than its worth if it is Stolen/Written off.

Also, regarding Fiat Cinquechento's not being very Strong, i beg to differ, a little Yellow one jumped a set of lights and hit my 3 week old Mini Cooper s, (Only 700 miles on the clock!!) Look at the damage it done!! (The little Yellow peril had hardly any damage)

My civic wasn't the same after the accident I had a few years back. Always check the work that's been carried out afterwards, as I had an A4 sheet full of problems they hadn't sorted! It was disgusting that they actually called themselves a repair place!

That's the way it works with Insurance, they've completed their part of the contract. Any further inconvenience such as your 8 week gap is down to the girl that caused the problem, you could send her the bill?

Steel Grey looks fantastic on the Golf 6. Glad it's all sorted.

Re Sam.Bird's Mini- that doesn't look structural. All that plastic and panelling isn't that strong- it's basically there to look pretty and take light knocks. If you had a proper crash in a Cinquecento you'd not fare so well. If you had a smash like iallen's then you might not survive- take a look at the EuroNCAP tests for the 'improved' Seicento! http://www.euroncap.com/tests/fiat_s...o_2000/73.aspx
    2002 Polo 9n 1.2 65PS. Basic but it's better than the train!
