    I've got gap insurance, but it was part of the deal, think its around £300

    Good news about the car, just the wait for a new one.

    thats a good turn around, are you going like for like or are you changing anything, what the lead time, my mate is still waiting for his to be built, he ordered it 3 march..

    Going for the same 1.6tdi Match 3 dr there is three on route or in the uk at different dealers, a white one, red and black, think i may go for the steel grey this time im fed up with silver, there starting to build some golfs next week what the dealer has ordered they maybe able to jump in and change spec to the one i want it would be end of may then if not may be longer, just wondering if the gap insurance is worth it ive been lucky this time

    white is nice

    re the gap insurance , like you say you've been luck this time, lightening doen't strike twice, i hope......can you get the dealer to throw the gap insurance in

    not sure they want £300 for it ive got a hire car at the minute paid for by girls insurance who was at fault thats white 2.0 tdi leather seats etc goes like stink uses more diesel though

    I have GAP insurance £300 as well. Covers me for five years. I suspect your car is worth more than mine so it might be an idea.

    I would insist on a new car ( or new car equivalent cash) replacement . In cases like this' GAP insurance is well worth the extra. A repaired car, even if repaired to a very standard, is never going to worth the same as the original car. Under no circumstances should a non-VW body shop be used to repair this extent of damage.

    Apparently the gap insurance is return to invoice for 3 years so you get the total amount of what you paid back for it im not paying £399 for it will try and haggle still waiting on insurance they asked for an amount i need for a new car just waiting there reply, but when and if i get the cheque i can only have the hire car for 5 days after they dont have to give it me until the new car comes how naff is that checked with the legal cover and this is correct

    im sure the dealer will lend you a car, one was offered to my mate who is waiting longer than expected for his new car to arrive..
