Hi I am new to this so forgive an mistakes, I have read the similar thread set up in June but I need some clarification about the camshaft timing marks on my 84 gti engine
There are 2 one dot on the out side face and a smaller one on the inside (facing the engine) which do I use and do I line it up on the edge of the cylinder head at the front or back ?
    THanks Danny

get yourself a haynes manual off ebay,a battered old one will cost you about 99p. if you've changed the cambelt you'll also need to check the alignment of the crank and auxillary shaft if it has one which i suspect it does.the auxillary shaft drives the oil pump and distributor. stick rigidly to the manual's instructions and you'll be ok,if you're in any doubt things could be misaligned after you finish DON'T start the car!
