    Hello

Recently purchased a A4 Avant SE '58 and at present it is not displaying the external temperature in the driver information display.

In the handbook it indicates that the external temperature showed be displayed at the bottom of the DIS. I have tried drilling through the MMI to see if I can find an option to turn it on, however, I have not

Is there a way to turn it on or am I missing something obvious??

    Cheers

Have you toggled through the pages. From memory I don't think it's visible all the time.

Do you mean toggling through the pages using the rocker button on the end of the wiper stalk, as this just scrolls through the av mpg, current mpg etc. Or is there another set of pages to toggle through.

Try the button on the underside of the left stalk, this changes between trip 1 and 2 and information displayed is different.

I dont have a button on the left stalk. Although I do have one on the bottom of the right stalk which changes between trip 1 and 2 and can reset the trips.

Where would I find the actual temp sensor on the car so I can check to see if the car actually has the ability to display the external temp?

It should display in these positions depnding whether the car is started or not

From what I can remember, it always displayed on the DIS whether or not the digital speedo was changed.

    Car on

    Car off

    Thanks for all your replies.

I am a bit bemused as it is does not appear, ignition on or off.

Clutching at straws - but would the gear change prompt have an impact? I might try turning this off later on to see.

    It doesn't make any difference.
