I have a 2000 4motion golf which didn't have FIS, I've changed the cluster, fitted the mfa stalk and wired it to the cluster, but I have a problem where it locks and resets itself, very rarely will change from program 1 to 2 and will lock the display when on an option until the ignition is turned off and back on again, can somebody help?

Also the temp displays ---- but the cluster has a wire in pin 26 as the aircon knows what the outside temperature is, is the wire damaged or something?

    Thanks

Do you have the outside temp shown on the Aircon display? If so it won't appear on the Instrument display as well.

    I don't think so.

It's something to do with the way the Climate control monitors the outside and ambient temperatures, to maintain the correct vehicle temperature.
