Unusual Heater Problem

Firstly Hello, my first post in this forum.
Basics:
VW Touran 2.0TDI DSG 140 2005, 75000 miles.
Owned from new, problems experienced so far. Endless interior rattling, Heater stopped blowing on 1,2,3 setting (fixed). Nothing much else, so pretty happy with the car apart from the rattly interior and need for a "normal" setting for the DSG gearbox ie. D=mega economy mode and changing up annoyingly on roundabouts, S=CHANGE UP ALREADY!!!. Getting 38mpg urban, upto 50mpg on a very careful A road run. It does what is says on the tin.

On to my problem: For some years now, but steadily getting worse the heater/blower will only produce heat on max setting (there is a click onto the max setting, which I believe overrides the climate control). It produces unsurprisingly max heat on this setting, any other setting produces max cold! As you can imagine this is pretty annoying. I do not have the dual zone climate control.

I do not believe this will be resolved by replacing the blower resistor behind the glove compartment as it is a different problem to all the others I have seen where the blower stops working completely on 1,2,3 setting. My blower still works completly normally, its just the heat setting thats fragged.

This is where I say I have searched every known forum and never seen a solution to this problem, but hopefully someone will very shortly tell me there is a solution on here...

You could have an air distribution flap stuck/not working properly. Try a fault scan on the HVAC
