I know they sit differently in the engine bay but will the main engine block with all my bits, engine mounts, gearbox etc added make it fit?

Just purchased a project GT TDi but it needs an AJM engine and I've found a low mile Audi A4 one but need to know if it can fit?

    cheers

After you have removed all the ancillaries from the “base engine” as it is known, you will have to fit the Golf’s oil pump pick up and sump and then build up the A4 AJM with the Golf external parts. The oil filter bracket and oil cooler are the same.

Cheers for the reply. Think I'm going to chicken out and spend a bit longer hunting for a Golf AJM engine so its an easier swop as its my first engine change. It's a project car so I'm in no rush.

Ta for the link, I must have missed that one, but will do a bit more digging and try and get one nearer home that I can see/hear running first.
