According to my documents that came with my car, Audi A4 2005 (B7), you get 3 years warranty on the paint and 12 years warranty on anti corrosion. Hope this helps mate. Tbh, I would recommend you contact your local Audi Delaer

If the Audi 12-Year perforation Warranty is similar to VW you will need a dealer with an Approved Audi Bodyshop. In the first instance I would contact Audi Customer Care and register your problem and have the name of the contact and ask for a Complaint Reference number. They should advise you to have it inspected at an Audi Dealer. They will check the paint thickness to show any repairs which would invalidate any warranty claim on that wing. The bubbles are a sign that the metal is perforated requiring wing replacement. Hopefully you will not have to put up with the hassle and wriggles that VW dealers and Customer Care have used to avoid paying for repairs.

Remember the 12 year Warranty has no conditions, does not require a Full Service History and is valid for all owners up to 12 years. You must not be put off by offers of contributions to the work of anything less that 100%, offers of a Goodwill contribution to the repair or that the paint Warranty was only for 3 years. Be polite but persistent and you will be rewarded with a new wing and a courtesy car while it is being fixed. If the bubbles are at the top of the wheel arch it will probably be due to a shaped acoustic foam pad that sits between wheel arch liner and underside of wing. It can vibrate and with the dust and dirt between the foam edge and the wheel arch....eventually removes the galvanized coat to bare metal and the rest is history. It affects Golfs and Passats from certain years. VW and their dealers are fully aware of the problem as a Worldwide bulletin has been issued.

Had it looked at and Audi dealer has suggested maybe a attempt at a good will deal for the front wing as it looks more like a paint defect but have noticed rear arch has started a little but after paint tests and checking its had a paint job on the rear quarter so they won't cover that

Where do I go to attempt a good will claim ?

If your wing etc has been resprayed it will not be covered by any goodwill as it is out of the 3year paint defect part of your original Warranty. You do not want to make a Goodwill claim if your wing has developed blisters at the top of the front wheel arches as this is covered by your 12 year body 'perforation/corrosion' Warranty which if your wings etc meets the criteria you will be entitled to replacement or repair. If it has reached the perforation stage shown usually by blisters that tend to swell up in the sun then your wings will be replaced at no cost to you. However VAG will offer you a 'contribution' of anything from 30% up to 100% in an attempt to reduce their costs.
There is a document on the internet that outlines the problem with Golf and Passat wings that is worth reading. I am not familiar with Audi but there may be a similar problem with Audi wings. Whatever...... be prepared for a battle with VAG as they will try and wriggle off the hook!

I was informed by the Audi bookshop that the bubbles wouldn't be covered under the corrosion or perforation warranty but may come under the paint defect but as its over the 3 yrs then I'd have to fight a good will claim or I might just leave it and get it sorted when it gets worse

If you have not seen this before it is worth downloading as it shows the extent of the problem that affects both Passats and Golfs of various ages. It seems to take a while to load but be patient as it is worth it. Whether it applies to Audi I do not know but if you have the blisters it is the same problem which will be covered by your 12 year Corrosion Warranty.

DO NOT CLAIM UNDER ANY DEALER OFFER OF A GOODWILL CLAIM. You already have your 12 year Corrosion Warranty!

    hi.

My 03 a4 avant has a lot of corrosion on both front wings, drivers side is much worse and it appears to be bubbling through from underneath. I took it to local audi dealer and asked if it was cvered by the warranty. The guy took measurements of the paint thickness and then said that the wing wasnt original. It is an original wing and surely if the paint is thinner than it should be, this would be due to the fact its corroding? possibly. Anyway audi have offered a 70% goodwill payment. This still means that i will have to find 350 quid to get the wings replaced. Just seems a bit of a rip off when the y gave a 12 year warranty.Who should i contact to try and get the full cost of the repair? the garage again or audi head office?
