Bose sound system

Anyone out there who rates this? I have it in my A4 and to be honest i don't think its up to much at all. Is there any sort of fault that could stop it from working to full potential? All i seem to get is a drumming bassy sound from the sub in the boot. To the point where i have turned bass right down.
Hopefully somebody can help me on this?

Go in the boot and you should be able to check the sub if you look up at the parcel shelf... Check to see if the speaker is damaged?

Replacement genuine speakers are pretty cheep if you need a new one.

Sorry I noticed you have a Bose system... Different story on the cost

I was thinking for a minute then. It's the avant i have so the sub is in the side of the boot. I can see the speaker moving a lot so its working. Just sounds awful. I'm a complete novice when it comes to amp's and sub's so if anybody can guve me a clue on how to test that its all working fine. I was thinking of disconnecting the sub speaker and seeing how it sounds then. Is that possible?

Well I've disconnected the sub speaker and instantly sounds so much better. Looks like the speaker's shot. So who wants to upset me now and tell me how much im looking at to replace it?! 😏

What year is the A4?

Spoke to Audi today......can't buy it separate to amp and sub. £500 😥 anybody know if i can fit another type/make of speaker??

Anyone know if you can get a used Bose sub from another A4 and fit it to the Avant?
You can get replacement 2nd hand sub's for a normal A4 parcel shelf off eBay however the Avant ones are harder to come by... I have only seen them as a whole unit.

Please please can somebody help me here. It's really annoying me as to whats up. I've removed the speaker and used a multimeter to check the resistance of the speaker. I have a reading so that say's to me that it's ok. When the speaker is out of the sub it sounds ok. As soon as i put it back in it sounds terrible again. Is this what a sub sounds like? I really was looking forward to having this system but to be honest it sounds no better than the sound in my Merc sprinter. Without the sub speaker fitted it sounds ok, but nothing special. With it fitted i have to turn the bass right down to nothing.

Please if there is anyone out there that has this system or has had similar issue's can you give me some advice. I am a complete novice to sub's, amp's etc and never owned either before. Even if somebody has any idea of some tests i can do it will be greatly appreciated.
