My A4 Avant (2006 BRB 115BHP 1.9TDi) was in for a full service recently and shortly afterwards the engine management light came on.

I took it back to the garage and he plugged in the OBD diagnostic machine, which diagnosed the problem as a faulty glow plug (bank 1).

I used NGK glow plugs and replaced the faulty plug with another NGK.

A week or so later the car threw on the engine management light again.

I took the car back to discover that I had another faulty glow plug (bank 2 this time).

I assumed by this stage that I had came across a batch of faulty NGK plugs so I decided to remove them all and replace with Bosch plugs.

Again, a few days after fitting the plugs the engine management light came back on.

Any thoughts as to what might be the problem?

The only other reason I can think of is a faulty glow plug relay...

    Cheers for the reply mate.

The car's going in on Monday morning to have the timing checked on the glow plug relay.

If it's staying on it could be burning the plugs out.

Can you tell me more about the bridge loom and what it does?

the bridge loom is the plastic loom that connects all the glow plugs
these fail and cause the problem you seem to have
replace the loom it will join in main wiring harness somewhere and you just cut the old one out
