Advise with 3rd party radio's for an A3.

Hi everyone.. thanks for reading what is my first post on a VW/Audi forum.. my apologies in advance for any general ignorance on my part.

Im considering purchasing a 3rd party radio for my 53 plate A3Sport to replace the Audi Concert radio that my father was kind enough to break recently..

I wanted to get peoples advise on this subject. Currently, when using the factory fitted Audi Concert radio, I get the details of the radio station/song number on the centre 'computer' display between the rev counter and speedometer which i find pretty handy. I'm under the impression, that this display will be lost should i get a 3rd party radio.

Is there anyway that i can ensure i can keep this functionality with a new radio ? clearly it has something to do with the connections between the radio and the car and its compatability with the display... If it is possible to keep the display with new radio's what should i be looking out for ?

Hi there... When you look for a unit make sure you can get a canbus interface for it... They are also know as OE Display Adaptors.
You might be able to get one by the manufacture of the new head unit or a 3rd party company such as Connects2
