    Hi all,

I’m new to the forums and quite new to Audis, well actually Audi DIYing to be precise, so hope someone can help.

My wife has a 2000 plate A4 B5 which has the Concert Cassette unit and she has decided that she wants the 6 Disc CD changer in the boot. (Personally I would have gone for an Ipod connection, but she wants CD) So having consulted the Ti Kan Audi Stereo website she has bought a CD changer (4B0 035 111) from eBay, which me and a mate have been trying to install today.

The CD changer connects up fine, but it seems like the Concert Head unit doesn’t recognise it, I have tried holding down the function button whilst switching the unit on but I only get the message NO CDC. My mate has connected his Laptop with VCDS and recoded the head unit to accept the changer, but nothing!!

(We have tried the changer in my mate’s car, so I know it works ok)

We have now noticed that there is a second set of connections tie wrapped to the CD changer lead in the boot. See images:-

So basically I have two questions.

    1) Does anyone have any ideas how to get the head unit to recognise the Changer?
    2) Does anyone know what the extra connectors are for (RCA in / RCA out, what is the third one?

As I say I’m quite new to Audi DIYing and what I thought would be a 30 minute job this morning has took all day, just to get to here to ask for help… (I'm slowly running out of hair to tear out... )

    Many, many thanks in advance…

    T

    In relation to question 2:

These are 100% after market cables... Possibly the previous owner had an after market kit installed... I know most people tend to leave the cables in as it is too much hassle taking them out
