    Next door but 1 to me has a 2001 1.8T it's the 150BHP like mine but has a cat back exhaust and remap. He has done his engine due to water pump going and not repairing it straight away (very silly boy) I'm gonna offer him my standard exhaust and some cash for his exhaust as he is gonna scrap the car I think.
    What I wondered is, if his ECU is remapped, would it work if I swapped mine for his? That way giving me a remapped ECU.

    i may be wrong but i think its got the immo code in it so would have to be programmed to your car, Crasher will know for sure, worth a pm to him to find out mate

    Another way is to swap ECU, instrument cluster and (key) transponders, as a package.

    Sounds like to much hassle.
    Just get the exhaust i think.
