    As the title says really, does the 1.9 TDI (105) have a DPF fitted with it being a lower powered diesel before it became mandartory to have then installed.

    Im asking this as i am thinking of a re-map but have been advised that mapping a car with the DPF can cause problems later on due to it clogging up??

    AFAIK the DPF shouldn't cause any problems after remapping but I don't have one so can't say for sure.

    As for the DPF, have a look at your data sticker and see if any of these are on there

    Vehicles with diesel particulate filter (fitted at the factory) can be identified by PR No. 7GG, 7MB, 7MG or 7GA on the vehicle data sticker

    No DPF on that model. Only the 170bhp at that age had it
