the software is available from ross-tech.com but if you intend to do any in depth work, you'll have to purchase a license too..

as for the lead, the ones i sell will work on your golf, a normal USB KKL cable will work fine with it

oops did we? its so hard to keep track of enquries mate, apologies for that. strangely enough, since i mentioned the fact that i had stock this morning, the remaining stock i had left has sold out, i will be placing an order soon though. if anyone needs any urgently, i can recommend alpha bid, tell him eshrules-enterprises sent you i expect to have a good deal of stock coming in in around 2/3 weeks.

i still have one of my excellent code scanners left too

Oh poop, that's what I get for not hassling you! Never mind. Best take it in to my mate who has Vagcom now. I probably ought to get a cable at some point and download software - I just need to know if it's something critical or not, the blummin light comes on willy and almost nilly.

Ner mind. Who or what is alpha bid - is that somebody here? Not seen the name.

its limited as to what codes you can pull and clear, some codes require the software to be registed, thats the main advantage of a scanner over vagcom its all ready to go 'as is'. when you say workshop manual... do you mean haynes? there are sellers which sell Elsawin which is main dealer software and copyrighted so i'd steer clear of that illegal practice

Sorry to jump in/hijack the thread but I've recently received my cable (obdII usb) from Alpha-bid and although I'm no expert, I can't seem to get my laptop (using shareware 409.1) to connect to either of my cars - 2002 Golf Mk4 & 2003 A4 (B6).

They both have the same interface, and the cable seems to fit ok.

Does anybody have any ideas about what I may be doing wrong?

Is there a set procedure for connecting these things?

@eshrules: sorry mate, if i'd known you sell these things I'd have got it from you instead. Anyway maybe I'll need a new one!!
