After spending a few hours sorting out my rear wiper motor, including brazing a new brass pipe onto the old one because I'm a cheapskate and didn't want to spend £30 on a repair kit when I could spend £3 on brass pipe from a model shop:

I've found that the corrugated washer fluid pipe is leaking somewhere in the rubber boot between the car and the tailgate. The question is how to repair this corrugated pipe? Can I get fittings to work on it, will standard washer hose connectors work, or should I just rely on the old fasioned way of "gobbo it up with silicone sealant"?

Alternatively, where it the next connection in the hose on the car side? Is it by the CD changer? in which case, it might be best to replace it right back to there?

    Thanks.

Just had a look at mine due to having a new wiper motor fitted because I didn't know about the repair kit and the next join would indeed look like its under the cd multichanger well it is on mine.

I had a the same problem. A split in the hose just in the gaiter between top of tailgate and body. I got a length of washer hose and two 5mm one way valves from my local factors, cut the hose at the split and fed the new hoes back down to where the cd changer is in the nsr cubby hole. There is an existing joint here.

    Rhory,

It sounds like your motor has been replaced with something else. Take the rear panel off the tailgate and have a look at the motor - it should look like this:

If it hasn't got the pipe running to the middle of it, it's not the right motor.

The link here has an excellent guide on rear wiper motor problems.

Worst case, a motor from your local breaker will cost about £20.

Are you sure it's not just blocked up with crud at the nozzle end? Have you got a photo?

If Audi "would like to have a look" does that mean they'll look free of charge?

Well, I fixed my hose today - it turned out there were 2 cracks in it at the hinge, so I cut out about a 3 inch section, and put in a 4mm joiner. It all seems to be working Ok now. If it cracks again, I'll have to replace the whole length, as if I take any more out, it won't reach the connector on the motor.
