    Hi I have an A3 1.9TDI sport 110 2001 model
My clutch pedal broke and I had to drive about 15 miles with no clutch with a number of traffic lights so stoping and starting was a pain ...... The car now crunches into second all the time so have obviously damaged either the gearbox or syncromesh but not sure how I can check or whats my best way forward
    Thank you Grant

Hi Grant, is it only second gear that crunches? if so then the box either needs to come out and be repaired or changed, ive just sold a A3 TDI box, but if you get one and want it fitted i will help you mate

Hi Grant, cost to repair is very hard to quote as it could be more than just a bearing or syncros A3 Grearboxes arent that much (about £150) the last box i had stripped and rebuilt cost £210 inc vat, then on top of that was my time to remove and refit the box, it will prob work out cheaper to get a box and fit that than to have yours rebuilt mate
