Posting a few picture here, whilst trying to locate the source of a rattle behind my glove box i came across this wire/lead, could anyone enlighten me as to where it fits and what it is for?

If anyone could let me know where it plugs in and what it is for, i'd be made up

    thanks for your time

I'm guessing it's a fibre optic cable for the MOST bus... CD Changer, AMI interface... etc?

That doesnt look like a fibre cable. They're far thinner than that.

It looks like some sort of aerial connection to me

As the AV modules are all in the boot, and the aerial modules located in the rear window/roof (from what I can see) could it be something to do with the mobile phone kit?

Is the white plug a dust cap? Unless something is not working I'd ensure it's tucked away and leave it. Agree with Chris that the fibre cables are much thinner, although you can put fibre over co-ax cable on computer systems.

This may help with the rattle:

Right.. didn't know how thin the optical cable is..

in that case, it is a mobile phone antenna cable.. either that end goes to the cradle, or it goes to the aerial extension..

This depends on if you have a car kit fitted or not.. are there any holes in the dash, or a cradle somewhere... is there an aerial fitted ?
