    hi guys
i got an airbag light on my 06 passat, so did a scan with vcds came up resistance high passenger seat and another code 00590 saying there is a short to ground.

i took off the connectors under passenger seat and soldered them together and heat shrunk them, then reset the fault codes and the airbag went off, until i pressed the clutch. so checked fault codes again and the 00590 was there again so went to the measuring block for the passenger seat airbag and noticed every time i press the clutch i would lose the resistor reading for a second and the airbag light would pop on again.

so i thought there must be a wiring loom getting caught on the clutch pedal,so had a look and there was no wires anywhere near the pedal , so now im totally lost.

    anyone have any ideas

    thanks in advance

Have you had the radio surround off, if so if you disconnected the wires it will need re-setting, you can also turn off the bags by the glovebox, so if it's just the light under the radio this is probably it.

Only thing that comes to mind is the pedal making a circuit by going metal to metal with something, I would look under the dash to see if any wires are moving about as you press the pedal in, or if any wires seem damaged.
