    Default Cambelt change needed should i use vw – 16-02-2012,10:01 PM
    Hi my cambelt needs changing in about a months time, vw have quoted £419 (2008 passat 140tdi) all in.
    What are my options and costs?

    Shame you live so far away... if it was me id find a local Indy and see how much they will charge you

    Try a local skoda dealer or a good indi. There is an indi in welwyn garden city if that helps.

    According to vw website belt and tensioner change is 359, or 439 with the water pump - see;

    Not bad, but I also changed waterpump, radiator and cambelt for £369 Inc parts, labour, and vat.
