Hi, anybody out there had their injectors done recently? (Injector Recall/Campaign)
My 2.0Tdi BKP (45000m) was done inbetween Christmas and New Year and since then hasn't started as good as it did before. It used to start first touch of the key, now turns over a few revolutions before starting. It was really bad on Tuesday morning, pinged at me and it read 'Engine Fault, Garage!',had to take key out and try again before it fired up. Doesn't do it all the time, just worried if there's a big problem on it's way.

There's a minimum crank speed before the engine will consider squirting the juice in and firing up. I seem to remember that it is 249rpm, but I may be wrong. If your battery is a little tired and it is a very cold morning, it might be taking a little longer to spin up to the magic speed.

Took it in this morning to the dealers and they plugged it in. Nothing to do with the injectors, just a coincidence.
They say it's either the engine speed sensor or the wires connecting to it, apparently they have a tendency to chafe and wear through around the starter motor area. I've had a good look and there are no marks on the wires or the plastic conduit they are in so hopfully not that because they wanted over £450 for 5 hours labour and a sensor.
Could be what you said Teflon, it was a cold morning and it is still the original battery (2007).

Had a similar thing on mine but without the warning lights - on a cold morning it would just not catch on the first cranking, but catch 1st or 2nd turn the 2nd time. Then it died totally over Christmas. Fault was the 2005 battery nthat had died, and since I replaced it everything has been perfect !
