Since early January, I've noticed a lot of cars having one fog light come on as they're turning a corner, or on a roundabout, it goes left fog on - right fog on - left fog on.

It seems to be mainly Fiats and VAG cars I've noticed.

Is this a new regulation on lights? Is it a "poor man's adaptive headlamps"?

Is it only new cars since then, or was it just activated on 1 Jan 2012?

Merc E classes have had them for years. Renault also have a system where the corresponding full beam light comes on when cornering which is quite blinding!

Static corner fogs are very common on VAG cars, depends on the level of the CECM but it can be enabled on most stuff from 04 on, for the mk5 golf you need a 30byte CECM and thats a Highline one, its just a tick in the box tbh

I wonder how many people have been pulled for a having a bulb out lol

I would shop him to the cops if he drink drives, loosing his licence is the least of this worries, what would happen if he had a collision with a car carrying a young child and killed them or caused serious injury, makes my blood boil. Having a 1 week old baby in the car with me makes me drive really carefully, what happens if some <removed> up idiot is coming the other way on my side of the road. Ring the cops and get him off the road.

I totally agree with you but lets be honest, i call the old bill they keep there eye out for his car, they pull him he blows green (as he hasnt drank that day) they leave him alone, but i do get your feeling, and i did have a smug grin when he hit a wall in the car and then 9 days later came off his ninja and totaled it
