Have i got the paint code right?

Morning Peeps,

I have been to ********* twice now to try and get a touch up kit for my 'V' plate Passat. I finally found the paint code in the car and the handbook. The car is a dark blue and the code states JN5Y, does this sound right?

I ask as ********* have about 10 Volkswagen dark blues most listed as used on Passats of that age but none with that paint code.

Is there an alternate code or name for the colour or do i just need to get one made up?

Alternatively does anyone know the price of touch up kits at the dealer?

LN5Y is Windsor Blue metallic but I don't recognise JN5Y. PM me your chassis number.

Hi,

FYI, when dealing with Halfords you need to remove the first letter of the paint code on VWs. Mine is LC5X Inky Blue but it's recognised in the paint match system as just C5X. They also have the facility to search the system by colour name, or by Make/Model and age of vehicle. Be wary if the user isn't too comfortable with the system as there can be quite a few different versions of the same code: if it ends in /Y = more yellow, /D = darker, /L = lighter etc. Lighter colours can be quite seriously affected if they pick the wrong option.

Slightly off topic but I have a 02 passat which im trying to find the correct colour code for. The sticker is missing in the the spare wheel well and the manual is missing.
