I know I am not on my own but I am seriously dissapointed in Audi as a dealership now - '08 plate 2lt Audi A4, 40,000 miles, full service history and my wife breaks down on 5th January.
Fault was diagnosed as oil pump failed which has a modified balancer shaft which is such a design change - i.e. a recognised fault, that a new sump needs to be fitted too.

Major supplier issue and part not available with an undefined delivery date so vehicle off the road. Contacted HQ "customer service team" who will not acknowldge a problem but will loan me a car whislt my wifes is off the road BUT they need the car and their charge is at least £800 more than my quote. The parts alone are circa £1500 plus circa 10 hours labour - only 8 months out of warrenty and plenty of A4's & 6's with this issue.

Retorical rant really as the only ones who can change my situation is Audi and the ycouldn't give a stuff so I am now letting as many people know about tehir lack of care and try to put people off buying them where ever possible.

and no better place to start than a forum full of VAG fans, right?

an unwise move due to several factors.

You posted your thread in the wrong section
You've created a rather silly username
You've included several spelling and grammar errors in your post.

I sympathise with people who buy lemons, honestly I do.

FWIW - 8 months out of warranty is quite a decent length - you wouldn't take a faulty washer back to Currys 8 months after it's warranty expired and expect them to fix it FOC would you?

If I was in his shoes I would feel the same and its understanderable to lash out a bit without worrying about marks for presentation.A major fault like this must raise the question of was the car fit for purpose and there seems to be a case for some redress.I have heard of similar cases suceeding and would think about a claim in the Small Claims Court

We don't know if the vehicle is used or has been maintained from new, which would cast doubt on the fit for use argument.

We also don't know if Audi UK have offered any goodwill on the work.

Taking Audi UK to the small claims court, I fear, is not the best course of action for anybody to consider.

I believe Crasher has a fair bit of experience with this particular fault so can probably advise more accurately on the best plan of attack.

A point I will make as an aside is that people tend to forget that expensive cars tend to be expensive to fix when they go wrong. Cars do go wrong, they're machines - even Audi can't promise 100% reliability.

to take the matter to SCC, there would need to be a breach of rights and/or a contract? The vehicle is out of warranty by 8 months.

whilst I agree it sucks, they're the facts.

best you can hope for is goodwill from Audi, taking them to SCC (should it be accepted as a claim) will not serve to aid that.
