Hi Guys...Please can anyone give me some advice on how hard is it to replace all 4 door window trims ?

I need to replace milky trims, and asked a local machanic and he seems to think that they should be quite easy to replace,,,and just pull / unclip from each door.

Not quite sure about that....as Audi wanted over £700 labour to replace 4 chrome window trims ?

Has anyone replaced their trims on the windows ? I can buy the parts for around £150 from dealer.

Any advice / comments would be appreciated

What color is ure car? why dont you use matte black its really nice with that! look at my pic there and ull se, i got mine from a wraping firm or ask firm in which they advertise and make decals for all sorts of things such as car, bus, taxi, yes you can always ask a taxi firm where they did it and just buy the wraping and one very sharp and a little scalpel knife, and then ull do fine

Mr Onionman.... just search the bay for "de chrome tape"
Easy to use..... just make sure trim is spotless before applying.
Much cheaper than buying new trim, and trying to fit it!!

Something to try guys if you want.My 2005 A4 B7 trims all went cloudy...presumably from detergent i used prior to washing over the years. The ONLY thing ive found that actually cleans them up without damage and to a very respectable level is the following.Get some wd-40 and a clean cloth.Spray plenty of wd-40 onto the rag and keep rubbing the trims. The cloth will become black as it removes some of the impurities so the more time you spend the better. Then wipe them off with a clean part of the rag and finally smear a light coating back on but this time leave it be and dont wipe off.Mine look ok now and i only have to repeat this every few months or so although they have never actually returned to a very cloudy appearance in between treatments.TRY IT.. you might be surprised as i tried everything and nothing helped but this

Go with a de chrome wrap (mentioned above), the reason the cost to remove and replace by Audi is that the door trims are riveted on, the rear quarter windows have to be removed as a whole unit. There are local wrap specialists popping up all over, I was quoted £180... wrapped with a 5 year guarantee. Having wrapped my interior and grille i'll be having a go myself.

    Mac.

Like macdoon.....I just bought the de chrome tape and will have a go myself.
I was quoted over £200 by a local vinyl wrapping company to do the window trims.

I'll probably wait until spring or summer for warmer weather which should make it easier and give a better finish at the corners.

My car is black so I think the matt black look is really nice.
