I had a look inside an RS4 the other day...
the hetaing controls were at teh bottom of the centre console (where my ashtray is) - to make room for a satnav screen.

    can you do this on a 2003 (52reg) A4 sport ?

just thought I'd ask here before going cap in hand to a dealer

anyone know / done this ?

Yes this can be done! The RS4 you looked at has whats called a double DIN centre consol, which in english means that the slot where a stereo goes is bigger to accomodate things like the in-dash 6cd changer or the cd & cassette combo stereo's & of course the satnav set up. Plenty of previous threads on this so do a search. You can do the work yourself or get someone to do it, your looking at about £900 to have a satnav conversion inc parts & labour.
