Hi, I'm new to all this. I have just purchased an Audi S4 (04 Plate) It has the Xenon Headlights. I'm off to France tomorrow and wondered if you can switch the headlights for European driving as not to blind continental drivers? Any help wuold be much appreciated.

    Matt.

Don't you worry about it... I've been several times abroad with all sort of right hand drive cars, and nobody has ever complained. Probably got something to do with todays technology but I do remember that a few years back, you were advised to get a plastic sort of thing on the headlamp, but I don't think you need it anymore.

Then again, you'll notice having more light on the left side than on the right but in now way, will this be an hazard for you.

Hope this helped... if not happy with it, just nip to halfords and get the plastic "thing".

(you may need to clarify with them that this is what you need as the blurb on the site makes no sense "for left hand traffic headlamps only" and "continental driving" - if you had lhd headlamps and were driving on the continent you wouldn;t need them would you?!!)

Check the back of the headlight it may have a lever to convert the beam to LHD. Alot of projector style headlamps have these levers.

Just because no one flashes you doesn't mean its not blinding - more so with Xenons.

I think it means its just for the LHD lamp and not the RHD lamp.

    Hi,

I drive regularly through France and Spain and the lights do needs to be set to LHD.

I purchased some new lamps that allow you to change for LHD and RHD.

You can get stopped and it's a spot fine in Spain. Can't pay car impounded.
