I've just had to put 4 new tyres on my a4 Quattro Avant at 15k miles. This doesn't sound good! does anybody have any thoughts?
    Thanks

How old is the a4 Quattro Avant?

What tyres were on there originally?

On what sort of roads do you travel?

    Which part doesn't sound good?

Hi, Thanks for your reply. The car is 2 years old and has Pirelli's on it. I drive on a mixture of roads but most of the mileage is on motorway. My concern is that it looks as though I'm going to need a full set of tyres every 15 months or so as I did a recalculation and I reckon I only get about 15,000 out of a tyre.
Also, I don't "rag it" round roundabouts!

I was getting upwards of 20k on my Pirelli P6000s, granted I've not got an A4 Quattro Avant, but 15k doesn't seem all that good at all.

Was the wear uniform across all the tyres, or was one axle/side wearing more than the other, etc?

I'd start with getting the car aligned to check if there's anything amiss.

Of course, Quattro tyres need to be replaced in 4s, so the bills are always going to be higher than normal

I would keep a check on tyre pressures.
I get about 20K from a set.....the joys of quattro

On mine the fronts wear on the inside edge......due to the big lump up front...

KwikFit are cheap for a reason - look around a lot more before you consider using them.

What size tyres do you need?

I got 30k on my Dunlop Sport Maxx GTs, so put exactlty the same on. I like the odd bit of spirited driving so was very impressed with the durability!

What would that reason be? Other than as outlined by Chody. Poor service? Poor workmanship? Was considering going to them myself.

    Thanks
