Head gasket/cracked? Misfire?

HI the wife has a MK4 1.416V AHW ihave had a sniff test done 2 weeks ago to conferm that the head gasket had gone ? cracked? which tok ten mins to turn ing color so i put in some steel seal to fix it it ran fine for a weekish but now its lossed power and miss fires but dont seem to be lossing water or burning oil al tho the oil filler cap a bit of the dreaded cream on it but im unsure if it is the head gasket or what it is i have just spend £250 onhead set and cambelt kit but been warned it could be a cracked head it dont boil up it bearly gets to 70 celcius and the interior heater dont get hot any ideas before i sell it or go for the repair thanks lee

You wont know unless you take the head off if its damaged.Sounds like the stat has gone too.What about a compression test?
